Do you have (insert product here) in stock?
We try to keep a stock of low-cost computers, a wide variety of cords, media players, computer parts and video game consoles and games. Since our thrift store is 100% donation based, our inventory is always changing so you’ll have to stop in to see if we have what you are looking for. Please do not call asking if we have a specific item in stock.
Can you place an item on hold so I could buy it later?
Items in our thrift store are first come first serve and we are unable to hold items and all purchases must be made in our store or through our online store.
Can I bring my computer (or other electronics) to FGTC for repair?
We generally do not offer repair services, but you are experiencing tech issues, come in during FGTC office hours and we will try our best to get you solid advice on how to fix your issue.
Can you ship my purchase to me?
We do not ship any items. You must pick them up at the store.
Does the store do trades?
Nope! Items in our store is available to purchase using cash, card, or check.
Will you accept a lower price for an item sold in-store or online?
No, we do not negotiate on posted prices.
Return and Exchange Policy
As of May 6, 2026, FGTC operates on a 14-day, exchange-only policy. We do not issue cash refunds or store credit. Within 14 calendar days of purchase, customers may exchange a product for an immediate replacement from available inventory. FGTC does not offer repair services, and items are not covered under any repair warranty.
Refurbished vs. As-Is
Refurbished/tested items have been tested and confirmed working at the time of sale. These items are eligible for exchange under this policy.
All other items have not been tested and are sold without any guarantee of functionality. These items are not eligible for exchange.
Terms and Conditions
Receipt required. The original purchase receipt must be presented for all exchanges.
Proof of defect. Customers must provide evidence of the hardware failure, such as photos, video, or a written description of the issue. FGTC staff may also test the item on-site to verify the defect.
Price adjustments. If the replacement item costs more than the original, the customer is responsible for the difference. If it costs less, the remaining balance will not be refunded or issued as store credit; it will be recorded as a donation to FGTC.
Condition and scope. Items must be returned with all originally included accessories. This policy covers verifiable defects from time of purchase only. It does not apply to software issues, viruses, accidental damage, or user error.
Data liability. FGTC is not responsible for any personal data left on returned
devices. Customers are strongly advised to back up and wipe their data before returning equipment. Apple products will require the customer to remove all users before returning.
Inventory limitations. "Comparable replacement" means an item at the same price point or close to it. If no comparable replacement is available other products on sale up to the value may be exchanged instead.
Manager discretion. FGTC management reserves the right to make exceptions to this policy on a case-by-case basis. Such exceptions do not set precedent and are made at the sole discretion of management.
Where and When to Return
Returns and exchanges are processed at the thrift store counter during regular thrift store opening hours. Please bring the item, all original accessories, your receipt, and your proof of defect.
Online Orders
This policy applies to in-store purchases only. Online orders are governed by a separate returns policy. Please refer to our website or contact us for details.
Minnesota Legal Compliance
Under Minnesota Statute § 325F.80, retailers may enforce "no cash refund" and "exchange-only" policies, provided written notice is clearly and conspicuously displayed on the premises in boldface type at a minimum size of 14 points. FGTC maintains this notice at the point of sale in compliance with state law.
